EI 2 Management Security

 EI2 Secure Management Filter: This filter can be added to reports and dashboards in order to restrict the user’s view to information to only the management they are assigned. It can be used in conjunction with the “My Locations” filter to add more security around users that are only assigned locations (not management). 

EI2 Folder Security: We now have the capability to help you restrict EI2 folders to specific user groups through roles and setup. For more information on Folder Security, please reach out to your Project Manager to help file a request. 

Steps to Create a New Folder with Limited Access:

*These users will only have access to this folder and will not be able to view other folders. 

The administrator creates a new folder in EI

The administrator creates 2 new roles for read and write

• One for Creator
• One for Viewer

1. Rizepoint customer adds permission Report menu to the 2 new roles
2. This allows them to see the EI Menu under Reports
3. Submit a Ticket to your Rizepoint Project Manager through Zendesk
4. Rizepoint Microstrategy Admins add the role to the EDRS Table so that the user sync will create the Client Group in EI2
5. Once the script has been filed, our Microstrategy Admin Group will hook up the folder and roles as needed
6. EI System adds the user to that client group when they log in
7. Rizepoint Microstrategy Admins add new roles to Configuration Security Roles EI-100 and EI-200 respectively
8. Rizepoint Microstrategy Admins would remove EI100 and EI250 from the new folder in EI
9. Rizepoint Microstrategy Admins add the 2 new roles to the folder with appropriate security
10. Once the setup is done Rizepoint customer would add users to one of the new roles

Access:

Users with new Read Viewer folder role (without EI permission) will only view and see objects in the Secure Folder (yellow)

Users with the new Creator folder role (without EI permission) will only view and see the objects in the Secure Folder (yellow)

Users with a folder role AND EI permission (consumer or creator) will see the secure folder (yellow) and all other folders

Users with no folder role, but have an EI permission (consumer or creator) will see all folders except secure folders
